Childhood Healing
Unresolved childhood trauma is one of the most common issues that people deal with in counseling, and it can come up during therapy sessions in many different ways. What exactly unresolved childhood trauma is defined by the client, and how you can identify it in yourself or a loved one, depends on the unique details of each person’s situation and the way they experience it. Unresolved childhood trauma refers to mental, emotional, or physical abuse that happened to someone at an age when they were too young to understand what was happening or were otherwise unable to process it rationally. A young person can also experience difficulties with uncovering their own identity and struggle to find/make social connections, or have difficulties maintaining self-esteem. Adversity experienced as a child may follow you into adulthood, and impact various roles a person may have in their life such as being a partner, parent, or feeling like your healthiest self.
